ALPACA
The Fiber Of The Andes

The smoothness and other attributes of alpaca fiber are the result of a long process of selective breeding carried out over the centuries; this eventually led to the Incas’ preference for using this species in apparel for their high-ranking nobility.

The alpaca is a noble camelid reared specially to provide the people of the Peruvian Andes with its wonderful fiber.

The alpaca lives at altitudes higher than 3500 meters (11500 feet) above sea level and, although it has been introduced into different parts of the world to be raised for its fleece, no better place has been found for its optimum development than the high-altitude steppes of the southern Peruvian Andes.
  • PERÚ
Is Home To The World’s Finest Fibers.

An examination of the history of textiles in our country shows that their origin is deeply rooted in the remote past and in the very existence of Peruvian civilization.

All the cultures which have flourished in this land, and from which we are descended, have had some form of woven or embroidered expression that has left its mark in the Peruvian cultural consciousness. Possibly the most refined of all these expressions is embodied in the use of the delicate and world renowned alpaca fiber.

The importance and vitality of this traditional yarn in the textile market are maintained through the work of women and men in the southern highlands of Peru, the birthplace of magnificent alpaca textiles.
  • ALPACA FIBER

The fiber with which we create our garments is obtained by means of a careful annual shearing process, where animals raised in the highest and wildest parts of our highlands are herded together.

The environment in which animals develop, and the special care that generations of herdsmen with ancient traditions have applied in order to bring their alpacas to adulthood, have a marked effect on the quality of the fleece. Alpaca fiber is extremely fine, more delicate than others, and with particular characteristics that have made it the world’s most important and attractive fiber in the current world of fashion.

These characteristics include non-allergenic properties, strength, durability, versatility, extreme softness, and 32 natural shades.
  • MERINO SHEEP WOOL
Alpaca and merino sheep wool of several different grades are blended in some of our designs. The particularities of both fibers facilitate the exploitation of characteristics such as fineness, elasticity, and thermal insulation to offer our customers an attractive combination with differentiated textures that are a delight to use.
    SILK
Luxurious silk, a material which evokes opulence and delicacy for its users, is probably a perfect match when used in combination with our alpaca. Together, these fibers offer the wearer softness and luster to create a unique experience in clothing.
